Comment from Agrometeorologist
In the third reporting period, i.e. from 21 April to 20 June 2010, drought conditions have not occurred in Poland. The climatic water balance values (CWB), on the basis of which the risk assessment of drought is calculated were only slightly negative in Central Poland. However, the CWB calculated values for Winter cereals, Spring cereals, Maize, Maize, Rape and turnip rape, Potato, Sugar beet, Hops, Tobacco, Field grown vegetables, Fruit shrubs, Fruit trees, Strawberries, Leguminous crops were much higher than the critical value.
